About Malinmore
Malinmore is a remote west-facing beach in south-west Donegal, near the village of Glencolmcille and the towering sea cliffs of Slieve League. The beach is set in spectacular scenery and catches plenty of Atlantic swell - one of those Donegal spots that rewards the long drive.
The bay works on W swells with E offshore winds. Mid tide is best. There's no surf school and no facilities to speak of - this is south-west Donegal at its most remote. Bring everything you need.
Hazards & Notes
- Remote · self-sufficient surfing
- Exposed - wind builds quickly
- Rips between sand bars on bigger swells
- Cold North Atlantic water year-round
