About Annestown
Annestown is a small south-facing cove on the Copper Coast in Waterford, between Tramore and Bunmahon. It's quieter than its neighbours and best on a clean S swell with a light N offshore - a forgiving little bay framed by the dramatic cliffs that give the Copper Coast its UNESCO Geopark status.
The beach is small but the cove geometry concentrates the wave energy into clean peaks when conditions line up. Mid tide is the sweet spot. There are no major facilities at the beach itself, just a small village above it.
Hazards & Notes
- Rocky headlands at both ends - know your exit lines
- South-facing - mostly flat when the Atlantic is firing on the west
- Limited facilities · bring everything
- Cold water outside summer
